Employment Type: Part-time (25 – 30 hours/week)

We aim to offer a wide variety of engaging activities to create a welcoming environment that encourages more individuals to connect with our center.
Position Overview
Under the direction and guidance of the Executive Director, the successful candidate is responsible for a wide range of administrative duties and activities management.
Duties
- Serve members and visitors of the senior center with courtesy and respect
- Responsible for planning, implementing, scheduling and evaluating programs
- Monthly newsletter printing and distribution
- Ensure set up and take down of daily activities including clean up after meals
- Posting events to social media such as Facebook
- Organize and maintain files and records
- Coordinates events and luncheons
- Creates or updates records with new files and information
- Enters paperwork into an electronic system by data entry
- Maintains security of confidential information
- Recruits volunteers
- Occasional weekend availability
- Some evening work involved
- All other appropriate duties as requested by the Executive Director
Qualifications
- High School diploma or G.E.D.
- One year working with the senior population, social work, education or related field (preferred)
- Strong understanding of Internet and proficiency with Microsoft applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher and Canva
- Familiarity with social media
- Ability to multitask
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Office organizational skills
- Possesses time management skills to set priorities, coordinate activities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to relate to seniors with understanding and compassion
- A positive attitude
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Licenses and Certification
- Must possess a valid Michigan driver’s license or ID card
- Must have reliable transportation
- Desirable certifications: CPR, AED and first aid.
