We aim to offer a wide variety of engaging activities to create a welcoming environment that encourages more individuals to connect with our center.

Position Overview

Under the direction and guidance of the Executive Director, the successful candidate is responsible for a wide range of administrative duties and activities management.

Duties

  • Serve members and visitors of the senior center with courtesy and respect
  • Responsible for planning, implementing, scheduling and evaluating programs
  • Monthly newsletter printing and distribution
  • Ensure set up and take down of daily activities including clean up after meals
  • Posting events to social media such as Facebook
  • Organize and maintain files and records
  • Coordinates events and luncheons
  • Creates or updates records with new files and information
  • Enters paperwork into an electronic system by data entry
  • Maintains security of confidential information
  • Recruits volunteers
  • Occasional weekend availability
  • Some evening work involved
  • All other appropriate duties as requested by the Executive Director

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or G.E.D.
  • One year working with the senior population, social work, education or related field (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of Internet and proficiency with Microsoft applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher and Canva
  • Familiarity with social media
  • Ability to multitask
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Office organizational skills
  • Possesses time management skills to set priorities, coordinate activities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to relate to seniors with understanding and compassion
  • A positive attitude
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

Licenses and Certification

  • Must possess a valid Michigan driver’s license or ID card
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Desirable certifications: CPR, AED and first aid.
